Sadly, I just received word that One Nine author Tom Lipinski has passed away. This is devastating news on many levels.
Tom led the first critique group I ever attended, and I always looked forward to his workshops throughout my MFA studies. I learned a lot from Tom, and he really helped me feel comfortable in the writing program. His calm, no-nonsense style and astute eye for critical details helped me improve as a writer, and we always shared an easy rapport.
When I decided to start my own little publishing brand, I knew I wanted to work with Tom. I am grateful I had the opportunity to do just that, and I am proud of the work we did with his final book, OLD GUYS RULES. And I am even prouder to call Tom a mentor and friend.
He will be missed.
